Chum

The salmon that looks and fights like a tiger.

In our opinion the most underrated salmon species. Pound for pound, they are one of the strongest salmon species on this planet.

Oncorhynchus Keta

Also known as the ‘Dog Salmon’ for their k-9 like teeth. They are the second largest of the Pacific salmon species in the world. Most people recognize the chum salmon by their purple bars and big teeth like a tiger. But once hooked you think it’s a chinook salmon because pound for pound they are equally as strong. We have seen more broken rods on chum salmon then any other salmon species. Dont underestimate the power of the chum, we like to call them the tiger salmon because they look and fight like a tiger, they never give up.

When you hit the timing right you can expect mutilple chum a day on the fly. They range between 15 and 30 pounds. They are big and beautiful in their own way. We love chums!

If you want to experience the power of a big salmon but still want to catch multiple big salmon in a day, the chum is your salmon. They will never dissapoint. They fight like tigers and they are plentiful when the run starts in mid July. The run is short till mid August before they spawn.
